Nice "Tongue and Cheek" video title. First I was like….What!?! But you have a lot of great info and some nice photo pics. Yup, this is the best cat for us. Thank you for bringing attention to this breed to youtube audience.
PS: Our vet said sometimes people are mistaken between the Van Breed and the natural occurring Van color pattern.
Turkish Van's have a different center of gravity than other cat breeds and unique conformation. A wedge shaped face and high cheek bones. Also a Turkish Van is different from a Turkish Angora. Again the skeletal center of gravity is different between the two. All things I had not known.
Plus, when our T.V.s were kittens, their ears seemed way too large in proportion for their heads until they reached adulthood. Yup, we'd tell them "someday, little darlings, your ears will match your body!" 😆
🤔 Has anyone else found the disproportionately large ears were a thing they noticed about their kittens/young first year-olds too? I'm curious 🤔
The cat vans are the one with the most playfull tails and character. Mine when was younger stalks people on the streets and attacked them 😂 of course people start to love him. Now when he is older he is very inteligent and peaceful, but i will remember him with this play
No u wrong
Kurdish cat*
my turkish van/british short hair has very short hair, loves to lie around, some energy but not a lot, cuddles insanely….maybe get a mix with turkish van
I have had 6 Turkish Vans, and over the years I have never had any engine issues
Van Cat is 100% Armenian Cat .
mine has amber eyes..
My TV is an inside cat, in a small apartment. He's harness trained and loves going on a daily walk and meeting lots of strangers to love on. He's gotten out a couple of times accidentally without his harness, and he's always panicked and came right to the door to be let back in.
I use to have one, my cat was very lovable and playful… 😊💙
Mine just walked up on the porch, skin and bones. I named her S'more. Shes healthy now and i'll try to get some stuff to entertain her due to her high energy levels
My Van cat ıs amasıng! She is cuddly and perfect
I lost my Turkish Van last October 14th. His name was Mr. Spots. He was 15 years old. The best behaved and thankful cat i ever knew. He was a big boy. He weighed 33.1 pounds, not overweight. Just a big gentle giant.
Le mieux fait de beaux câlins quand ça lui prend
Someone gave me their pure white and beautiful Turkish Van.
She is absolutely gorgeous and definitely fulfils the descriptions given.
She is mad for catnip.
Totally hilarious and stunning cat.
I feel honoured to have her.
The shedding though, yikes.
I had a Turkish Van. He was very loving with kisses and cuddles galore. He never got on furniture or clawed our furniture, etc. He did love to play and go out doors. He simply was THE BEST. I'm on the search for a kitten now.
I unwittingly adopted a Turkish Van mix Kitten. I was not ready for the amount of energy this kitten had/has (he's two years old now). He's got orange cat energy (like the printer ran out of ink! xD), but has more than one singular shared brain cell and it makes him so hard to keep up with. I've never met a cat who requires as much enrichment and mental stimulation as he does. He's very affectionate though, loves us very deeply, but only on his terms (which is something we strongly respect in this household). But he'll army crawl his way into my lap and snooze there for hours while I work or jump into my arms for a 5 minute cuddle if he's feeling lonely. I work from home so he's always happy to have me around. If I move from one room to another he's a lil ghost who always haunts me. When I was growing up we had a Maine Coon who my dad would scoop up and playfully ask "What are you good for? Huh?" and that line has always stuck with me when snuggling with any of my cats over the years. With Kaiju I always have to grin. He's always good for a laugh and entertainment. He will engage any game I come up with and purrs the loudest when playing with me or trying to figure out a puzzle I've set up for him. Turkish Vans will always be an infinite source of entertainment. I swear he'll do anything to make me laugh or try and get me to come play. He drives me crazy most days, but honestly I wouldn't have it any other way. We built him a blanket fort out of our couch yesterday. He's spent the last two days zooming in and out of it and dragging all of his cat toys in there.
I adopted my kitty from the shelter and had NO idea she was a Turkish Van… until she got a bit older and I started to wonder about her distinct personality, SUUUUUUPER INSANELY SOFT fur and crazy energy. She is NOT a lap cat. She's incredibly smart and needs to use her brain at ALL times. She is also really happy when I talk to her. She lights up and does the cutest little head tilt, as if she's trying so hard to understand what I' saying.
my baby girl is a senior lady. Her name is Sassy because she loves to mouth off at me. She did have high energy in the past. I enjoyed her being silly and cheering me up in my darkest times. She's starting to meallow out now. All she wants to do is be near mommy. Even 20 feet away. She's enjoys my company and even i go upstairs. She will follow. She makes sure that I'm passed out before she takes care of herself.
My drug dealer gave me a Turkish van cat and a ginger long haired domestic cat as a gift.
I named them “Lucifer and Michael”
i love mine
Flikker op beste katten!
8: they're so cute you might faint
Exact. That's the caracter of the van cat. I adabt myself to her caracter and now we are fine together. She is 17 years old now.
They are naturally leaders of your homes.
Reason number three is incorrect, depending on the individual Cat and depend depending on the owner. It is also not true that the Turkish van wants to go outdoors more than any other Cat. This is a breed that needs an enriched environment indoors in order to be happy, but if enrichment is done, they will be fine. Also, they are not always running around the house. They spent plenty of time sleeping and napping on the furniture or even on their owner. Some of the other reasons listed against this breed are valid for every breed of cats not just a Turkish van. No cat should be left alone for large periods of time. The Turkish van does not typically hide.
lol, my mom and I have one right now.
I HAVE TURKISH VAN CAT. SHE RULES THE WHOLE HOUSE AND HER 4 DOUGHTERS. THEY ARE THE DOMINANT LEADERS. SHE WAKE ME UP IN THE MORNINGS AND HITS ME ON MY BACK AT 10:00 PM ASKS ME TO GO TO BED. SHE ADDICTS HER LIFE TO HER PARTNERS AT HOME. WE ARE HER PARTNERS AND WE SHARE HER OWN HOUSE. BELEIVE ME SHE IS HUMAN MORE THAN A HUMAN.
