THIS is how cats get their Vitamin D (its not what you think!)

Did you know this cat fact? ☀️

I honestly did not know this one. I had no idea that cats get their Vitamin D from their fur…what about hairless cats??

And since Chip is a Manx cat and has a double coat, can he store twice as much Vitamin D? 🤭

  1. I sure didn't know that. So, the vitamin D is absorbed by the fur where it is transferred to the cat when they groom? Fascinating. 😻😼😻

  2. Didn't know that but it does make sense. Cats do like to sun themselves during if possible. Crazy Cat Ladies Unite! 🐈‍⬛🌻🪮🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

  3. FYI this is completely false and cats get their vitamin D through their diet. Don’t believe everything you read online, people

  4. Amusing thought, but this is not the case. Multiple sources from a web search state that almost all of the vitamin D is acquired through eating food containing vitamin D.

  5. I love seeing Chip's sweet face. I had a cat that looked just like him when I was a kid. She had a long tail though. 😸 She loved back scratches, belly rubs (belly bongos too), and lotion massages on her toe-beans in the winter. ❤
