Mans cats. Why no tales? The Mans cat is a special breed from the aisle of man, a little island between England and Ireland. What makes them famous? Many of them are born without tails or with just a tiny stub. So why? It’s all thanks to genetics. A natural mutation hundreds of years ago shortened their spine. The trait stuck around because the island’s cat population was small and people thought these tailless cats looked unique and charming. Over time, breeders encouraged it and the mans became an official breed. But here’s the twist. Not all manks are totally tailless. Some have no tail at all. Some have a little stub and some actually grow a full tail. And no, it’s not because anyone cut them off. They’re just born that way. Mans cats are playful, smart, and strong jumpers like little rabbits. In fact, their back legs are a bit longer than their front, which makes their hop look even funnier when paired with no tail. So, next time you see a mans cat, remember their missing tail isn’t a mistake, it’s their trademark, Mans cats. The genes behind no tails. The tailless trait in Mans comes from a dominant gene, often called the Mans gene, M. Here’s how it works. A cat with mum, one man’s gene, one normal gene, will usually have no tail or just a very short tail. This is the classic Mans look. A cat with mum, two normal genes, will have a normal tail. But if a kitten inherits mum, two mans genes, it usually doesn’t survive. This is called a lethal combination and it’s why responsible breeders never pair two totally tailless Mans cats. Because of this, every litter of Mans kittens is a mix. Some tailless, some with short stubs, and some with regular tails. That’s also why you’ll sometimes see a Mans cat with a full tail. They still carry the genetics of the breed, just without showing the tailless trait. The same gene that shortens the tail also slightly affects the spine, which is why breeders have to be careful. With good breeding practices, most Mans cats live happy, healthy lives.

Sorry amout the Mums its supposed to be M M and m m genes
