My Norwegian forest cat has crippling anxiety, and he hides whenever I sneeze
02:03 kitty was being naughty…
👍👌❤🇨🇦
Also to mention is their toe tuffs!! They have extra fur that grows between the pads of their paws just like sand cats and main coons. I found a NFC and he’s my best friend 🙂 they also don’t shed as much as other cats even who have shorter fur. My lil dude has also been a great mother figure to a kitty I found recently who was so little she couldn’t 1 or 2 by herself and he would help her. Best cat I’ve ever had.
I have to keep my shower door closed my cat will not stop getting in the shower with me
I have two wegies and there is nothing bad about them. They are wonderful cats!
The need to living in large houses really depends. My boyfriend has a Norwegian hybrid who lives with him in a one bedroom flat and she's content. Of course she spends most of her time outside anyways.
2:34 Actually you dont really need a large home, as long as you have a nice outdoor place, especially a forest, they really love the outdoors, and should never be an insIde cat. I'm Norwegian and I have almost only ever encounted a foest cat in the forest, I thinks that's where they get their name from, they just love it sm!
My NFC came across me. He moved in of his own free will from a neighbour having been introduced to me by that neighbor's other cat, a Seal Point Ragdoll. The neighbour was cool with it.
Mine is usually the lazy guy in the family of pets( because he’s a senior) but tonight he’s been zipping all over the place! (Maybe it’s cuz he knows I’m watching this video!😂)
Mine is nothing like this 😭 especially with the always being by your side and the water 😂 I would grab her and pet her and all she would do is run away! And once she hears the fabreese she runs, or when I have wet hands and pet her.
My Wegi is 3 legged, missing a rear foot, unknown origin as she is a rescue. Very affectionate towards me, but runs from everyone else.
She loves the outdoors rain, shine, wind or snow. Loves playing outside, she comes when called from under sheds, on porches, curled up on a deck chair, she appears happy and secure with the care I give her, and is a nibler all day long. She resembles the cat in the picture. I feel lucky to have found her.

1:28 Good
1:41 I need a cat that loves to play outside
I rescued my Lucifurr and she turned into my therapy pet. One of the best companions I have ever had. Even now as I type this she is snuggled up in 'sphinx mode', and glaring at the door in case someone disturbs snuggle time.
"Without being demanding" uhh I'll argue that 🤣
I've owned several NFC's over 17 years and they have no negative points. The hereditary disease HCM can occur in all cats, of all breeds, even ordinary house cats. NFC's are not hyper active (like Abessinians f.e.).The allergy negative applies to all cats, especially short haired cats. The NFC does not need a big house, he needs a big cat tree. The only thing to take into account is that it is not good for the NFC to be the only pet – he will languish if there is not an animal friend in the house (other cat or dog). The Norwegian Forest Cat is the best breed in the world!!! Once you get acquainted to them, you will be hooked for life!
how dare you, there are no bad things about wegies.
Mines passed away on the 23rd this month due too a blood bloodclot in the heart he was 15 years old 🙁
We got a cat from the local Shelter a few months ago. They called him a mixed breed (he was a stray when he was found), but I'm thinking he is a large part a Norwegian Forest Cat. He is mostly white with some small black spots on his back and the top of his head, and his tail is mostly black with a white tip. I found a picture on Google of a black and white Norwegian Forest Cat that looks nearly identical to him. He is a big cat, with big paws, really fluffy (but his fur is really silky and soft). The temperament fits him perfectly too. I'm thinking of getting a DNA test for him to see what breed/s he is.
My cat has all the traits of a NFC but is tiny. 3.5 Ibs. Could she be a different breed or a mix?
Mine tore the shit out of my kitchen chairs. Yeah, problematic if they get bored. Love him though.
Mine was a rescue. Typically $900 from a breeder, we adopted him as a senior (10 yr old) from the humane society for $80.
All of what you said is spot on. I’ve had cats all my life, and until Puss Puss came into my life I’d not known of Wegies. I can honestly say that they are truly wonderful and fabulous company. Puss Puss is not my pet, she is my best friend. The both of us live together in a remote part of New Zealand, where she has her own forest to enjoy. As for the two of us going for walks, yes often. One of her most endearing habits, is for her to come racing up from behind, then hurtle up a tree. Her rapid approach, always sounds like a small horse 😂. I’ve never been happier, moreover that I’ll never be able to replace her. Ohh and lastly, I need to brush her at least three times a day, but that’s not a chore as it is one of her favourite things and It’s the least I can do for her ♥️
I adopted a wegie not knowing much about him or his age. He was an adult for sure because his size never changed. I was lucky enough to have him for 11 years .He was the sweetest 20 lb couch potato I ever had. He would watch tv with me while I rubbed his belly. He loved that so much he would roll over on the couch so I could. He never did any of the bad things you mentioned
My Norwegian is nothing like this. She likes to hide in the basement and is very selective with her affection which makes it extra special when she is feeling affectionate 😊
