We’ll introduce you to some of the cat spots we’ve visited so far, as well as an undisclosed cat island. Enjoy 30 minutes filled with cats. Matsuraku Ryokan is a popular cat inn where 13 cats will visit your room. Whether or not a cat enters your room depends on their mood. Some cats come in multiple times, while others never do. Oh. Welcome, kitty. Thank you for visiting. This is my room. Ah! Here it is! It seems a little wary. I greet it by waving a cat toy through the screen. But that’s no use, so I immediately leave… This time, I quietly watch it enter the room. (It’s in!) When it enters the room, it heads straight for my futon. As the innkeeper, I check the feel of the futon. This cat’s name is Hana-chan, and she’s our 10th mascot cat. While I was working, she climbed onto my computer. I wonder if it’s warm on top of my computer? It only lasted about five minutes, but I was very satisfied with the hospitality. The oldest cat, “Sumomo-chan,” lives in the hallway. Born in 2008, she’s an old cat, but her fur is lustrous. At 6:00 AM, Sumomo-chan meows to wake up guests. She strolls around the inn, checking for any unusual behavior. Her work embodies the quintessential attitude of the oldest cat. Her trademark is the heart pattern on her body. Furthermore, she’s a calico, a symbol of good fortune, making her a very auspicious cat. Apparently, it’s Sumomo-chan’s job to check on guests while they’re taking their morning baths…? Meanwhile, there’s another cat with whom Sumomo-chan is rumored to be “feuding.” She’s furious with another girl, “Mimi-chan.” It’s not that they’re on bad terms, but rather that Mimi-chan is unilaterally shooting guns at Sumomo-chan. Sumomo walks slowly to avoid upsetting Mimi-chan. This isn’t slow motion. Watch the uncut Mimi vs. Sumomo feud. Sumomo-chan walks slower than a robot dance. The exit is right in front of us. Good luck, Momo! We finally managed to escape! Just when we finally managed to leave the room, Mimi chased after us. Please stop! Namidaji is our newest addition this year. He’s a kitten less than a year old, and he’s full of energy. He loves to play around, and he’s still playing. Deciding that there’s nothing good to gain from this room, he quickly retreated. I wondered where he went, but he was fast asleep. His sleeping face was adorable… and he still looked sleepy. The cats are generally free to roam the inn. Although they now live happily, they were originally rescue cats. The three new siblings are full of energy. When there are no people around, the cats play freely. There are plenty of cat toys around the inn. They seem to have fun by themselves. Each cat seems to have their own favorite toy. The fluffy white toy is a big hit with everyone. It seems like they’re aiming for something. Is this toy? It only has a string attached, but it looks like they’re having fun. Mimi, the black cat, suddenly started jumping! What impressive athleticism! Each cat was enjoying their own free time. They looked very happy. Located in Ozu City, Ehime Prefecture. This room is for overnight stays only. We recommend a room on the second floor. Make your reservation early! Next up is the popular cat island, Tashirojima. This is the first video of Tashirojima. It’s a very impressive fish bone. What kind of fish is it? There’s no meat left, but the cat is engrossed in sucking it dry. Tashirojima is one of Japan’s three largest cat islands, along with Aoshima Island in Ehime Prefecture and Ogijima Island in Kagawa Prefecture. Currently, about 100-130 cats live on the island. It’s also said to be Japan’s northernmost cat island. We spotted a cat drinking water with an incredible posture. It looks a little difficult to drink, but there doesn’t seem to be any concern about water shortages. This small, inhabited island is about 11 kilometers in circumference. With a population of about 60, there are more cats than people. Kittens are basking in the sun. So cute! Feeding cats is prohibited on Tashirojima. To maintain the cats’ health, the islanders provide them with food. The use of cat teasers and catnip is also prohibited. They were fascinated by the dead trees. Before I knew it, a large group of cats had gathered. They were all young, and all had unique patterns. This photo was taken in February. The cats, now in their winter coats, were fluffy and adorable. Tashirojima was once a thriving silkworm farming area, and cats were kept to control rats. The island is also a thriving fishing area, and cats are apparently revered as gods of the fishing industry. As a rule, cats on the island are not spayed or neutered. Spaying and neutering is performed to balance the islanders’ lifestyles and tourism. Everyone looked sleepy, but one cat still seemed to want to play. The Nyan Pro game began. It was a 2-on-1 battle. I couldn’t win… It was more of a playful contest than a fight, but I was at a great disadvantage. They’re stomping, hitting, and squatting. Since they’re fighting while lying down, it’s a pretty relaxed “cat pro” situation. I wish I’d just left the area… While I was waiting for the return ferry, a cat came into the waiting area. Hello. Is that Jiji in his winter coat? He seems to want to go inside the waiting area, but cats probably aren’t allowed inside. Ugh. Don’t look at me like that… I feel so sorry . I can’t get a break at all. I gave up on the waiting area and basked outside in the sun. The weather is nice today, so it looks pleasant. Finally, we visit Aoshima, a supposedly uninhabited island in a few years. It once housed over 200 cats. This video was filmed in 2022, and there were over 100 cats there. Currently, the population has dropped to around 70. It’s said that by 2027, all cats will be gone from the island. Aoshima, once home to over 800 people, now houses only three elderly people. The twice-daily ferry service, which supports the islanders’ livelihoods, is said to be discontinued in the future. All cats on Aoshima have been neutered or spayed. Many of the cats on the island are elderly. The islanders feed them, and feeding is also permitted. It’s strange to think that with so many cats, they’ll all be gone in a few years. If you’re going, now is the time to visit this mystical island. The cats also have a certain dignity about their appearance. Their faces are stern… There was a famous cat on the island called “Dokin-chan.” She had a very unique pattern and was popular on social media. After continued hospitalization and medication, she passed away peacefully in the arms of an islander in 2024. No-no: I want to take a picture of Dokin-chan, but I’m worried about the other cats. Can they wait a moment? She tries to bite my hand while I’m petting her. It’s scary! Some cats are friendly, while others don’t. Cats that are used to people will lie down when you approach. He’s an elderly cat, but he’s so fluffy. Another cat has come. Cats are rubbing their bodies against each other to greet each other. It’s a pretty intense greeting. He greeted him again, even though he’d just greeted him. And it’s long. I wonder how long it will last. Ah. The greeting is forced to end. I’ve often seen cats fighting with each other on the island. Some cats are strong, while others have lost territorial disputes. Is everything okay? He slowly went outside, cautiously watching his surroundings. It seemed there was a cat that scared him. Once he decided there wasn’t anyone around, he quickly left. The world of senior cats is tough. Some cats don’t like people. He ran away as soon as I got too close. His fur was shiny and his body was impressive, but he didn’t seem to like people. Even though I gave him food, the other cats continued to eat silently without paying any attention. He finally ate when I moved away. Cats have different personalities. After eating, it’s time for a nap. They each relax in their favorite spot. They all sleep together, not separately. It’s a peaceful and adorable sight. There are no other natural enemies of cats on the island. Everyone was relaxed. There was an elderly cat that looked like a baby. He looked like a grandpa, but also a kitten… His mouth was open and he looked adorable as he slept. It felt like someone was watching me from above. Even though I was just taking pictures of other cats, I was constantly being watched. Japan has a variety of cat spots. Please enjoy the game while following the rules. Thank you for watching until the end.

Thank you for today's cat video.
I'm reading news about possible earthquakes and tsunamis in Japan!
    Stay well, please!💚
