How to Tell The Difference Between Black Cats and Bombay Cats

How to Tell The Difference Between Black Cats and Bombay Cats

How to Tell The Difference Between Black Cats and Bombay Cats

When you see a cat, can you instantly tell if it’s
a black cat or a stunning Bombay? It’s not as easy as it seems! These mysterious creatures come
with their own bag of surprises. Today, we’re going to unravel those mysteries and reveal the
subtle details that set them apart. Let s start Let’s start with the basics. When it comes to your
furry friend’s fur, the first clue is right under your fingertips. Black cats can have a range
of fur textures some may be sleek, some a bit fluffy. But the Bombay cat? Well, they boast a
shiny, silky, and oh-so-smooth coat. It’s like petting a velvety night sky. So, next time you pet
your black beauty, pay attention to that texture. Black cats steal the show with their enigmatic
eye colors, ranging from shades of blue to mesmerizing greens and everything in between.
However, if you’re talking about Bombay cats, it’s all about their golden or copper eyes that
glimmer like precious hidden gems. What’s more, these Bombay beauties flaunt large, round
peepers that seem to transport you into the cosmic abyss. So, when you’re faced with the
choice between a black cat and a Bombay cat, remember this golden rule: “Eyes don’t lie,
so check them out; they hold the surprise!” Now, let’s talk about cat ears. Bombay cats
prefer simplicity in their ear design. Their ears are usually upright or slightly angled,
and they have rounded tips. On the other hand, black cats are a bit more adventurous when it
comes to their ears. Some of them might have ears that fold or curl, adding a hint of intrigue
to their appearance. So, while Bombay cats say, “Let’s keep it straightforward,” black cats
like to throw in a bit of ear acrobatics to keep you guessing about their next move!
When examining their noses, you’ll notice that Bombays have small, black noses that
are a tad shorter than your typical cat’s, giving them an endearing button-like appearance.
It’s as if they were blessed with the cutest noses in the cat world! In contrast, black cats often
sport slightly larger noses, which adds a touch of individuality and charm to their unique look.
Bombay cats flaunt the ‘purr-fect’ button noses, while black cats embrace their own
‘nose-talgia’ with slightly roomier snouts! When it comes to Bombay cats, their tails are
like well-tailored suits – always perfectly in proportion to their bodies, creating a sleek and
stylish silhouette. On the other hand, black cats bring a bit of intrigue to the table with tails
that can come in various sizes, adding a hint of mystery to their overall look. So, while Bombay
cats are all about tailoring, black cats like to keep us guessing with their tail size surprises!
Let’s take a closer look at the adorable paw pads of Bombay cats! These cats have a thing for
consistency, so their paw pads match the rest of their sleek black fur. Now, for our black cat
buddies, it’s a bit of a paw-zzle. Their pads can be black, grey, brick-red, or even pink! There is
a little surprise party at the end of each paw! Bombay cats rock a compact, muscular body,
as if they’re constantly in superhero mode, ready to leap into action. On the flip side,
black cats tend to flaunt a more slender, elongated frame, maintaining an air of grace.
Whether you’re into the muscular or the elegant, the cat world has a style for every preference
it’s a feline fashion show out there! Now, let’s get inside their heads or should I
say, their hearts? When it comes to temperament, Bombay cats are the extroverts of the cat world.
They’re always on the move, playing and seeking attention like they’re hosting a non-stop party.
When they strut, it’s with a confidence that says, “I’m the boss around here!” On the flip side,
black cats are no strangers to friendliness and affection, but they might also give you
a little breathing room. Bombay cats are like the life of the party, while black cats
are the cool cats who know when to chill. Do you consider yourself a genius in all
things cat-related? This is your chance to prove it! At the end of the video, we
will ask our TRIVIA QUESTION OF THE DAY. The answer to this brain-teaser lies within
the second half of this video, So make sure to stick around and pay close attention. Are you
up for the challenge? Let’s find out together! Pay attention to their voices; it’s a cat’s way
of communicating! Bombay cats are famous for their vivid and robust meows, reminiscent of opera divas
hitting high notes. They’re like the Pavarottis of the feline world, always ready to serenade you
with their vocal prowess. On the other hand, black cats, while equally expressive, often
employ gentler, more melodious tones in their conversations. It’s like they’ve got a jazz
ensemble, giving a soothing sound to their chats, making it feel like a late-night
lounge performance in your living room. Bombays are the social butterflies of the
cat world. They thrive on interaction and love being the center of attention. It’s like
they’ve got their own fan club! Black cats, while equally friendly, might appreciate
their alone time. They resembles the artists, finding inspiration in solitude. Bombays are the
socialites, always ready for a meet-and-greet, while black cats channel their inner artists,
finding solace in their creative moments! Let’s discover how these cats feel about the
sun. Bombays are sun enthusiasts, actively seeking those sunny spots to bask in the warmth
and soak up vitamin D. They’re like sun-chasers, always ready for a tanning session. On the
other hand, black cats also appreciate the sun but tend to take a more leisurely approach
to sunbathing, as if they’re savoring a laid-back day at the beach. So, whether you have
a sun-chasing Bombay or a beach-loving black cat, they both have their own sunny disposition!
In terms of intelligence, both Bombay cats and black cats are known for their sharp minds.
They can quickly adapt to new environments and situations. However, Bombay cats tend
to have a reputation for being particularly intelligent and quick learners. Black cats,
while equally intelligent, may showcase their cleverness in various ways, making them versatile
problem-solvers. Bombays are the brainiacs, solving puzzles with ease, while black cats are
the creative geniuses, thinking outside the box. Bombays are low-maintenance in the grooming
department. Their short, sleek coats require minimal brushing, like a well-coiffed
celebrity ready for a photo shoot. Black cats, with their varied fur lengths and textures,
might need a bit more grooming attention, depending on their individual coat type.
They’re the divas who demand a spa day now and then. Bombays are the ‘wash and go’ cats
of grooming, always ready for the camera, while black cats might occasionally
need that ‘spa day’ to look their best. In terms of health, both Bombay cats and black
cats can lead healthy lives when properly cared for. However, it’s essential to note that Bombay
cats may have a slightly higher susceptibility to certain health issues due to their distinct breed
characteristics. Their larger eyes can make them more vulnerable to eye-related problems.
On the other hand, black cats, with their diverse genetic backgrounds, may exhibit varied
vulnerabilities, making regular vet check-ups crucial for both to ensure their well-being.
When it comes to distinguishing between Black Cats and Bombay Cats, considering their price
and availability can be key factors. Bombay cats are generally more expensive, ranging
from $1,000 to $3,000 due to their distinct breed characteristics. In contrast, black cats are
more budget-friendly, typically priced between $50 to $500. In terms of availability, Bombays are
relatively rare compared to other cat breeds, which can make them a bit more challenging to
find. Conversely, black cats are more commonly encountered, making them easier to locate
if you’re in search of a feline companion. Thank you for joining us on this fascinating

  1. I have 2 black rescue cats, a male and a female. I'd noticed quite a while ago that the females' coat could look a bit reddish in bright sunlight whereas the males didn't. Also the female has greenish eyes but the males are more golden. Now I know why. 🙂

  2. Bombay or black cat they are all beauties 😍😍. Trivia quiz. I would say eye issues but it’s just a guess lol

  3. Can't tell if I have a Bombay or Black cat.. We found a stray about a week ago I'm trying to figure out what type it is. It has orange/golden eyes, fully black and its paws are black, and its ears look like a bombays, but he's not super energetic, all he wants to do is cuddle all day. And he has a pretty short tail, what do you think?

  4. I love black cats! I have a black cat named Sasha he is so affectionate and beautiful. He is my baby I spoil him with lots of love 💕 play, cuddle sessions and good food and treats.

  5. I always say she is 2nd best o f the 11 I’ve had. But she owns me in her head. Awesome friend. Leave time to play. And if you are ill she will be there to comfort you if you’re feeling down.

  6. I'm still so confused if my cat is a Bombay or not LOL I adopted her when she was about 2 months old and she would actually play fetch with one certain mouse, but she could have gone through some trauma that I don't know about because she was just dropped off at the shelter, but now she is almost 14 years old and she has been more timid the last 5-7 years. There have been many people and a couple of older small dogs (none of the dogs were mine) come and go in her life, so that may have something to do with her timidness. Either way, I don't regret adopting her and I don't have kids, so she is my daughter, to me!! She is always by my side, that's my Babygirl!! Shout out to all the black cat lovers, no matter the breed!! 😻

  7. Based on this video, I think my cat is a mix between black cat and Bombay cat. Has all of the looks of a Bombay, but has a temperament of a black cat.

  8. I had two Bombay cats brother and sister and Judge the boy looked like a panther he was a bad ass cat and his sweet little sister is 24 years old today i still have her
