The Danger of Getting a Cat (猫を飼うことの危険性)

As soon as you get that breathing ball of fur, your life is completely changed forever. That little guy will completely own you and you are no longer the center of your universe. He is. Every aspect of your life will have to pass through the prism of “is that ok with the cat?” But you know what? You will embrace it because that little guy will enrich your life immensely. And you won’t have it any other way.

On January 3, 2021 we found “Ficus” hiding underneath a pickup truck. He was tiny, skinny, starving, full of fleas and earmites. We estimated that he was about 3 months old. We brought him to our home in the countryside and he grew up with our doggies Emma & Shirley. Later on we found out that he is a Japanese bobtail. That explains his very playful nature. He’s also highly intelligent and affectionate. He will turn 5 years old this September 2025.

2021年1月3日、私たちはピックアップトラックの下に隠れていた「フィカス」を見つけました。彼は小さく、痩せこけ、飢えていて、ノミと耳ダニだらけでした。生後3ヶ月くらいだったと思います。私たちは彼を田舎の我が家に連れて帰り、愛犬のエマとシャーリーと一緒に育ちました。後に、彼が日本のボブテイルだと分かりました。それが彼のとても遊び好きな性格の理由です。彼はとても賢く、愛情深いのです。彼は2025年9月に5歳になります。
