Notable especially because it was my very first ebird checklist (I'm new, I only started birding last year!), I wrongly identified a cape may warbler as a blackpoll warbler, and because I included a photo and it was rare for the time of year and location, I was quickly corrected by a reviewer. It was in the season of confusing fall warblers, but I expect to be confused by all the warblers even in breeding plumage as they arrive back this spring, before I have a chance to really practice IDing all the ones we get here on the east coast…
Strange how the your Merganser is what we call a Goosander here in the UK. We have Mergansers too. Is your camera a Nikon P950? Keep warm!
I've seen a golden eagle in western Nebraska when I was younger.
I just saw a video yesterday on distinguishing juvenile Bald Eagles from Golden Eagles, so I was able to tell what it was before you named it. I'm pretty happy about that.
Never been birding on snowshoes. Never been snowshoeing!! I would really like to though.
I think my worst ID mixup was calling a Black-headed Grosbeak a Spotted Towhee
Bundle up burrr brother
I went birding on snowshoes last winter. I saw pine grosbeaks and a hairy woodpecker.
Once, when I was newer to birding, I mistook an Eastern Kingbird for an Eastern Phoebe. Flycatchers can be tough. Just this past weekend I drove past a bird in a tree. I thought it was a Boreal Owl. When I looked closer, I realized it was actually a Ruffed Grouse.
Gosh it was beautiful out there!! Gorgeous scenery along your snow shoe hike! Sorry you kinda got skunked, but it wasn't a total zero. THANK GOODNESS you saved your camera! Thanks for sharing.
I went snowshoeing today in Boulder County, CO around 8600ft elevation. Saw a Clark's Nutcracker, Common Raven, Hairy Woodpecker, and a couple White-breasted Nuthatches. I enjoy your videos, keep it up!
Clay colored sparrow turned out to be a normal female house sparrow. Still haven’t found a real clay colored sparrow.
Good afternoon to you from Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR. I have just returned from my three hour walk by the seaside, and I heard from the thickest of the dense shrubbery, a JAPANESE 🇯🇵 BUSH WARBLER. I am very honest to GOD, there is no mistake in the sound I heard as I matched the sound to GOOGLE search. TheJAPANESE BUSH WARBBLER, known in Japan 🇯🇵 as ‘UGUISU’ is an Asian passerine bird more often heard than seen. Its distinctive breeding song can be heard throughout much of Japan 🇯🇵 from the start of spring.
The JAPANESE BUSH WARBBLER is a common year-round resident throughout Japan 🇯🇵 (except the northern island, HOKKAIDO) and the northern Philippines 🇵🇭. In the summer, the JAPANESE BUSH WARBBLER can also be found in HOKKAIDO, MANCHURIA, KOREA 🇰🇷, and central China 🇨🇳. In winter, the BUSH WARBBLER can also be found in southern China 🇨🇳 and Taiwan 🇹🇼.
Is it possible to have an first time Audio-recording “LIFER” of a bird never seen before but having heard for the very FIRST TIME …..?
Really like this here reality birding videos. Shows that not every time we go out birding it’s a huge list
Nice work, nice video bro,The birds so beautiful and animals,Thanks for sharing your videos to everyone see🎉
I've never gone snowshoeing, or even seen snowshoes I think – which is weird since I'm basically born and raised on snow 😅 Just not a big thing around here I guess. Looks like fun though!
The large amount of relatable moments I have from this video is insane so I'm just gonna mention that I had nearly the exact same experience leaving a valuable item on top of my car except instead of a camera it was a 12pack case of IPAs
