  1. Actually, it’s an instinct that goes back to when they were kittens. They knead their mother’s teats to induce the milk flow. As for calm & content, maybe?

  2. My tortoise-shell girl does this so much, and she really gets into it with the bent back and the serious stare 😂.

  3. My kids to cats did the same thing but the mail he would crawl on top of my head and he would make little sounds and use his little paws and he would need into my head and it made him happy we loved him and I do believe that's very true they do that because they do feel safe and content in their home❤❤❤❤❤❤

  4. They also do this to express their love which they have and science can’t prove that, but the cat can! If you treat your kitties good, they will love you back.

  5. My kitty is a mess.she loves to knead and suck my cover …..I did get her when she was two weeks old and nurse her the entire time

  6. As someone who has owned literally hundreds of cats (animal rescue) I can confidently say that this is not why they do it. This is a clear indication that they have been taken from their mother too early. (Some cats do it regardless of how long they were with their mother, but this is true in about 90% of them) It's called neading and is what they do to their mother's breasts to stimulate milk production.
